Magic on a Budget? Yes Please! Walt Disney World Value Resort Series, Part 3 - All About the All Stars

The next stop on our journey through Walt Disney World’s Value Resorts takes us to the trio of All-Star Resorts. Disney’s All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports are some of the most affordable places to stay on property, each with its own fun theme and larger than life decor. While they share many similarities, each resort also offers its own unique flair, whether you’re drawn to the magic of Disney films, the rhythm of music, or the energy of sports. In this post, we’ll take a closer look at what makes the All-Star Resorts special, and how they compare to the other Value Resorts we’ve already explored.

What makes the All-Star Resorts so special is that they bring the fun of Disney to everyone. From the moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by larger than life icons, whether it’s a towering Sorcerer Mickey, a giant guitar, or oversized sports gear that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the middle of the action. Kids light up at the whimsical designs, adults can’t help but smile at the nostalgic touches, and groups of friends love the upbeat, energetic atmosphere. Best of all, the All-Stars deliver all this Disney magic at one of the most affordable price points on property, making them a fantastic choice no matter who you’re traveling with.

So, what exactly can you expect when you stay at Disney’s All-Star Resorts? While each one has its own theme and personality, they all share a few magical similarities that make them truly special. From colorful courtyards filled with those larger than life icons to lively pools, food courts, and plenty of Disney details around every corner, the All-Stars bring the fun in a big way. Let’s take a closer look at what these resorts have in common, and where each one shines with its own unique Disney flair!

Theming & Atmosphere

The first thing you’ll notice about the All-Star Resorts is their playful, over the top theming, and it’s impossible not to smile when you see it. Each resort has its own personality, but they all bring the same vibrant Disney energy.

At All-Star Movies, you’re surrounded by Disney film magic everywhere you turn. Picture Dalmatian puppies from 101 Dalmatians standing taller than you, Buzz Lightyear guarding the Toy Story buildings, and Sorcerer Mickey casting his spell at the Fantasia pool.

All-Star Music strikes a high note with courtyards decorated by massive guitars, maracas, and jukeboxes. The resort celebrates every genre, from country and jazz to rock and Broadway show tunes. It even has family suites, perfect for bigger groups who want to stay together while enjoying the rhythm of Disney.

And then there’s All-Star Sports, where the excitement of the game comes to life. Giant football helmets, oversized tennis rackets, and playful basketball courts make it feel like the ultimate victory celebration all around you.

No matter which All-Star you choose, the atmosphere is colorful, lively, and brimming with that unmistakable Disney magic that turns even a simple walk around the resort into a memory.

Rooms & Suites

When it comes to staying at the All-Star Resorts, the rooms are designed to keep you comfortable while still surrounding you with touches of Disney magic. All three resorts offer standard rooms that sleep up to four guests, with two double beds (or a king bed, if available). You’ll find bright colors, playful Disney decorations, and just enough space to recharge after a full day in the parks.

But here’s where things get extra special, All-Star Music offers Family Suites, making it the only All-Star Resort with this option. These suites are like a little backstage pass to extra comfort and space, making them perfect for larger families, friend groups, or anyone who wants to spread out.

Each suite can sleep up to six guests and includes a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a living area with convertible furniture, and perhaps the biggest win, two full bathrooms. That means no more waiting in line to shower before hitting the parks!

There’s also a kitchenette complete with a full sized refrigerator, microwave, sink, and coffee maker. Having a fridge that large makes it so much easier to store snacks, leftovers, or even groceries, so you can whip up a quick breakfast or enjoy a chilled drink without leaving your room. It’s the kind of convenience that feels like pure Disney magic after a long park day.

While the standard rooms are cozy and similar across the three resorts, they still pack in plenty of comfort and convenience for your stay. Each room sleeps up to four guests with either two double beds or one king bed (available by request and subject to availability). Beds are dressed in Disney bedding, and the rooms are decorated with colorful touches that tie back to the resort’s theme.

Inside, you’ll find essentials like a mini beverage refrigerator, a flat screen TV, a small table with chairs, and a dresser with storage space. Microwaves aren’t included in the rooms, but you’ll find them available for guest use in the resort food courts. If you’re traveling with little ones, complimentary playpens are also available upon request.

The bathrooms are designed with families and groups in mind. There’s a separate vanity area with a sink and mirror, plus a door that separates the toilet / shower area. This makes it easier for multiple people to get ready at the same time.

Cozy, colorful, and practical, the standard rooms give you just what you need to rest up before diving back into the Disney magic. And the real charm? The theming right outside your door. Whether that means Toy Story characters towering nearby at Movies, giant guitars strumming at Music, or football fields lined up at Sports, your home base feels like part of the adventure 24/7.

Dining & Food Courts

At Disney’s All-Star Resorts, eating isn’t just about grabbing a quick bite, it’s about stepping into a themed setting that feels like part of the story. Each resort has its own quick service food court, designed with whimsical decorations and fun details that match the resort’s overall theme. It’s not just dining, it’s dining Disney style!

All-Star Movies, World Premiere Food Court:  Walking in feels like you’ve stepped onto a Hollywood set, complete with movie posters, film reels, and marquee lights. Themed as if you’re backstage at a big film production, this food court sets the stage for a blockbuster meal. From all-American classics like burgers and pasta to star worthy desserts, it’s the perfect spot to fuel up.

All-Star Music, Intermission Food Court:  Over at Music, your mealtime comes with a standing ovation. This food court hits the right notes with decor inspired by instruments, rhythms, and musical motifs. Think bold murals and music themed details that make you feel like you’re in the middle of a jam session. Beyond the lively atmosphere, the menu offers familiar comfort foods along with plant based choices and fun seasonal specials, so there’s always something fresh on the playlist.

All-Star Sports, End Zone Food Court: Here, it’s all about the thrill of the game. Themed like a bustling stadium concession area, the End Zone Food Court features bright sports decor. Scoreboards, team colors, and playful nods to different games are what you’ll find. Hearty, fan favorite meals like pizza, pasta, and sandwiches are served up in winning portions, making it a champion’s choice for a midday refuel or a post park victory feast.

And of course, each resort has its own poolside bar, Silver Screen Spirits (Movies), Singing Spirits (Music), and Grandstand Spirits (Sports) to keep the magic flowing with refreshing drinks and light snacks as you lounge by the pool.

Just like at other Disney Resort hotels, the All-Star Resorts offer the ever popular Disney Resort Refillable Mug. For one flat price, you’ll get unlimited refills of soda, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa at any resort beverage station for the length of your stay (up to 14 days).

They’re super handy for grabbing your morning coffee before heading to the parks or cooling off with a cold drink after pool time and they double as a fun souvenir to take home. Plus, your mug can be used at any Disney Resort hotel, not just your own, which adds a little extra magic if you’re out exploring.

One of the best parts about staying at the All-Star Resorts is that the fun doesn’t stop when you leave the parks—the magic continues right back at your hotel! Each resort has two themed pools, plus smaller quiet areas for relaxing, so whether you’re looking to splash, play, or simply unwind, there’s something for everyone.

Pools and Recreation

At All-Star Movies, the star of the show is the Fantasia Pool, where Sorcerer Mickey himself stands tall, spraying water as if casting a spell right into the pool. Kids love the playful splash zone nearby, while adults can relax in the shimmering blue water with Disney music playing in the background. For a quieter dip, the Duck Pond Pool, themed after The Mighty Ducks, gives you a playful sports vibe in a more laid back setting.

All-Star Music takes center stage with the lively Calypso Pool, shaped like a giant guitar and surrounded by bright maracas. The whole area feels like a tropical celebration, with fun tunes setting the mood. Younger guests have their very own splash pad nearby, so even the tiniest travelers can join the fun. For a more peaceful option, the Piano Pool, yes, shaped like a grand piano, offers a quieter space to relax and recharge.

Over at All-Star Sports, it’s game time at the Surfboard Bay Pool, where massive surfboards stand tall and the beachy vibe makes every swim feel like a seaside getaway. The second option, the Grand Slam Pool, is baseball themed, complete with Goofy pitching from the center mound. It’s a guaranteed home run for little athletes and sports fans alike.

Beyond the pools, the All-Stars offer plenty of recreation options to keep the fun going. From arcades packed with classic and modern games, to outdoor playgrounds where kids can climb and explore, to Disney movies under the stars at night, there’s always a little extra pixie dust waiting after your park day.

Transportation and Location

One of the best things about staying at the All-Star Resorts is their prime location and convenient transportation options. All three resorts, Movies, Music, and Sports, are located in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Resort area, just a short bus ride away from all four Disney theme parks. Whether you’re heading to Magic Kingdom for a morning rope drop, Epcot for a world of flavors, or Animal Kingdom for a safari adventure, Disney buses make it easy to get there without the stress of driving or parking.

And here’s a fun bonus: the All-Star Resorts are connected by a walking path, so you can stroll between Movies, Music, and Sports whenever the mood strikes. It’s a playful little adventure in itself, perfect for checking out the oversized statues, unique themes, and lively decor at each resort. Grab a snack, snap a few photos, or just enjoy a leisurely walk in the sunshine. The magic continues even when you’re not in the parks!

Within each resort, getting around is a breeze. Guest rooms, food courts, pools, and recreational areas are all easy to reach on foot, and the resort layout keeps everything feeling compact and manageable. For those who want to explore beyond the All-Star area, the bus system connects you to Disney Springs, water parks, and the theme parks, so you’re always just a ride away from your next Disney adventure.

Choosing between Movies, Music, and Sports is like picking your favorite Disney song, each one has its own charm!

Staying at Disney’s All-Star Resorts is like stepping into a world where fun fills every corner and every detail is sprinkled with pixie dust. From the cinematic magic of Movies, to the toe tapping energy of Music, to the high energy thrills of Sports, there’s a little something for everyone, big or small, young or young at heart.
