Surfin' Safari in World Showcase: The Beach Boys, John Stamos, and a Crowd Level 10 at EPCOT!
What an absolutely epic way to spend an evening in EPCOT! For those of you who were in the park tonight, you know exactly what we’re talking about: the legend, the music, and the masses! The Eat to the Beat Concert Series at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival closed out the weekend with a monumental show featuring none other than The Beach Boys, and the energy in the America Gardens Theatre area was palpable.
Our very own Disney Nerd, Kim, was in the park and reported back with all the details, confirming what many of us suspected: the crowds were insane.
Crowds? We Hit a 10 Out of 10!
Kim confirmed that the area around the America Gardens Theatre and the America pavilion was an absolute sea of people. This was a crowd level 10 out of 10 event!
The lure of classic hits like "Good Vibrations," "Kokomo," and "California Girls"—plus the added excitement of a very special guest—turned that section of World Showcase into the most popular spot in the park. Guests were lining up hours in advance, all eager to catch a glimpse and hear the soundtrack of summer live.
Have Mercy! John Stamos Joins The Beach Boys
The biggest buzz of the night (aside from the incredible music) was the appearance of actor, producer, and honorary Beach Boy, John Stamos!
Stamos has a long history performing with the band, and his presence brings an extra layer of Hollywood magic to the already beloved concert series. For long-time fans of The Beach Boys and the Disney Nerds who grew up watching Full House, seeing "Uncle Jesse" on the drums in the heart of EPCOT was a truly surreal and amazing experience.
The Soundtrack of Summer in the Middle of World Showcase
Despite the immense crowd, the experience of hearing those iconic harmonies echo through World Showcase was worth the wait. The setlist was packed with their greatest hits, instantly transporting everyone to a sunny, surf-filled day, regardless of what country pavilion they were standing in.
