For me, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has always been one of those can’t miss, headliner attractions. I still think back to the very first Disney Jollywood Nights, when the park felt extra magical under the glow of holiday lights. We wandered over to Sunset Boulevard, and to our absolute shock… walked straight onto Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Not once, not twice, but six times in a row. It was one of those perfectly unexpected Disney moments. Eventually, we peeled ourselves away to soak in the rest of the festive atmosphere, but that memory has stuck with me ever since.
So yes, there’s definitely a little bittersweet feeling knowing this version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is changing. But at the same time, it’s hard not to feel excited about what’s ahead. The idea of the The Muppets bringing their signature humor, music, and a little bit of delightful chaos to the experience feels like such a perfect fit. And honestly, knowing they’ll continue to have a presence in the park makes this update feel a lot more like a new beginning than a goodbye.
And even before you step into the full story of what’s changing, the transformation is already starting to show itself as you wander through Hollywood Studios. There’s a real sense that something new is rolling in. Little hints and visual updates that catch your eye if you’re paying attention.
One of the first changes fans will likely notice is just as you approach the area. The iconic upside-down car that helps mark the entrance to this corner of the park has already received a fresh new paint job, subtly hinting that something big is on the horizon for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
